Frequently Asked Questions
What is microblading?
Microblading is a technique that uses a series of ultra-fine needles to deposit cosmetic pigments into the upper dermis of the skin, creating fine hair-like lines.
The aim of microblading is to create a subtle and natural correction that gives the appearance of fuller and better defined eyebrows. It is the ideal solution for those who wish to reshape, define, fill in gaps or completely fill in plucked or hairless eyebrows. Using only the highest quality vegan pigments and sterile disposable needles.
Who shouldn't get microblading?
- People with a tendency to keloids, very thin skin, rosacea or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
- People with communicable blood diseases such as HIV or hepatitis.
- People with visible redness on the face or skin diseases.
- People with autoimmune diseases.
- People undergoing active chemotherapy.
- If you have any type of skin condition near the eyebrows.
- People with oily skin.
- Persons under 18 years of age.
How to prepare for your microblading appointment?
- If you have reference photos, feel free to bring them to your appointment.
- If you wear eyebrow make-up every day, please indicate how you would normally wear it on the day of your appointment.
- Do not thread, wax or tweeze your eyebrows before your appointment. Your specialist will shape your eyebrows during your appointment.
- Do not exercise on the day of your appointment.
- You may not take any medications that may thin your blood (i.e. asprin, ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E) 48 hours before or immediately after your procedure.
- Do not drink alcohol for at least 48 hours before your procedure.
- Avoid caffeine on the day of your appointment.
What can I expect from my appointment?
The entire microblading process will take between 2 and 3 hours (initial session and touch-up).
In the initial session and before we discuss the treatment, we will work together to see what style you like best, design... We will take photos of your eyebrows before the treatment, disinfect, measure and draw your eyebrows with a pencil.
Once the previous steps have been taken, we will apply anaesthesia and wait 20 minutes while we go over the design to be followed on the photo.
Once our anaesthetic gel has taken effect, we will begin the microblading procedure.
Retouching session
Although not mandatory, 99% of our clients receive a touch-up one month later, where we will assess how the skin has healed and perfect the eyebrows.Microblading is a semi-permanent procedure, it will tend to fade over time, so we always recommend a touch-up to correct and perfect the eyebrow.
What is the recovery time?
Your eyebrows will be dark and somewhat flaky for the first 7 days. The healing period is 7 to 14 days. No make-up or skin care products should be used for 7 days.
The final result will appear after the 5th week. The colour of your new eyebrows will soften between 40 and 50%, it is recommended that you return for your touch-up session.
How long does microblading last?
Microblading is semi-permanent. The pigments are designed to fade naturally over time. Factors such as skin type, iron deficiency, lifestyle, pigment colour (lighter colours fade faster) and sun exposure influence the speed of pigment fading. Microblading usually requires a minimum of two sessions. Touch-ups will also be necessary.
*Please note that the final result cannot be guaranteed, as each person retains and breaks down pigments differently.
